Sailing from Athens to Venice.

August 2015 we celebrated mum's 50th in style! We booked an Azamara cruise sailing from Athens, Greece to Venice, Italy. Me, mum, my baby sister Sara, my older sister Jade and her fiance Tim all set off at 5am to begin the journey. The cruise lasted about 2 weeks and was bloody fantastic!
This was my first Azamara cruise (previously I have been on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises) and I must say I was extremely impressed. Unlike other cruises, Azamara ships are smaller, less crowded and you get waaaaay more time in port, which was a big winner for me!

Santorini, Greece

Best Salad EVER!                                                                          Clifftop Bar Anyone?
If you decide to walk down the donkey trail .. beware to move out of the donkey's way pretty quickly!
Looking down over the cliff to the ship by day ...                 And by night.

Santorini was so beautiful, and HOT! My gosh was it hot! We got the cable car up to cliff (terrifying) and wandered around the clifftop before popping into a couple of bars and restaurants for a few drinks and some lunch. I have a feta, tomato and olive salad which was simply divine. We then took the long walk down the donkey path, in direct sunlight! It was such a fun experience because it we were all slipping over and trying to move out of the was whenever a heard of donkeys came charging!

Kotor, Montenegro

The Beautiful Streets of Montenegro

The sail in to Montenegro was breathtaking, it took around 3 hours (I think) to get into port but the views along the way are so worth it. Sailing down a narrow waterway surrounded my mountainous landscapes in the glorious August sun was something I will never forget! Once on land the medieval town is perfect for strolling down the little alleyways to keep the scorching sun off your back and pick up little trinkets in the local shops!
